NURSING HOME FALL CASE

Our client was discharged from Jackson County Memorial Hospital and admitted to a local nursing home in Altus, Oklahoma for rehabilitation. Our client was admitted to the nursing home for thirty days in order to regain his strength so he could return home.

The nursing home did a fall assessment and determined that our client was at risk of falling. Yet the nursing home did not take any measures to protect the resident. He fell several times over a thirty-five day period and ultimately fractured his hip.

We sued the nursing home for failing to institute fall precautions. The case settled at mediation. Please see our Nursing Home Negligence page for more information.

AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT SETTLEMENT

Insurance companies always want to settle your case for the least amount possible. It is our job to aggressively pursue your case in order to obtain the highest possible settlement or verdict. In some cases, insurance companies will not make a fair settlement offer until just before trial. We settled a case last week where the defendants initial offer was $20,000. We rejected the offer and continued to prepare for trial. Three days prior to trial, the defendants increased their settlement offer to $150,000. The case ultimately settled. Please see our automobile practice page for more information.
